EFNMSvzw General Assembly Meeting

The EFNMSvzw General Assembly (GA) has its meetings twice a year. The GA lasted all day and different items are discussed by all representative society members of the EFNMSvzw. In the last GA 36 members were there and they came from 19 countries.

The Barcelona GA meeting was a very important one – it was prior to the opening of the EUROMAINTENANCE 2004 on May the 10th.

Some short and important information:

  • a necrology was pronounced about three illustrious members of the EFNMS, and a moment of silence was observed in their memory;

  • Pedro Rodriguez presented the structure and activities of AEM;

  • election of Chairman 2005/2007 - the Nominating Committee (Kaj Grönroos, Janez Tomazin, and Wouter Thews) took charge of the meeting, presenting the election procedure, and then presented the candidates. The new chairman of the EFNMSvzw will be Hans Overgaard from Denmark. He will become a new chairman on Bratislava GA meeting October the 30th.

     

  • Board of Directors filling vacancies - following the death of Mr. Ivan Ivancic a new Web Site manager Janez Tomazin was elected;

  • Business Units - a guideline for presenting and detailing out business plans was presented by Per Schjølberg;

  • EUROMAINTENANCE Award 2004. This award was given to Kenneth O'Reilly from Ireland. He presented himself on gala opening of the ERUMAINTENANCE 2004

  • Master Thesis Award 2004 - This award was given to two winners this year, Mikael Hagerby and Mikael Johansson. They were presented during Euromaintenance 2004.

  • EFNMSvzw Projects – the GA discussed ongoing EFNMSvzw projects: trends, Terminology, Training, Benchmarking and Certification. About this and other activities you can read under the window working groups;

  • 14. CEN Activities the Chairman attended on behalf of EFNMS the annual meeting last year in Berlin, and other meetings earlier this year. The essential problem is how do we get industry interested in Standardisation;

  • EUROMAINTENANCE 2004 Project leader Pedro Rodriguez presented the status of the preparations. The number of participants has been very positive;

  • EUROMAINTENANCE 2006 (Basel) - organization is underway and a stand at Euromaintenance 2004 is arranged to organize support;

  • EUROMAINTENANCE 2008 – there a three candidates for this event: Belgium, Great Britain and Slovenia;

  • Members Activities - presented by Mirta Baranovic the honorary president
