EFNMS Excellence Award for Master Thesis in Maintenance

The present MTA committee received 10 Masters theses for Euromaintenance 2010 and each thesis was evaluated by three independent members of the Jury as per the evaluation format. The compiled result was reviewed by the MTA Committee, who found that:

The thesis from Spain proposes the design and development of the maintenance management framework considering all related issues and techniques of maintenance engineering and management. The candidate has displayed a wide and in-depth knowledge on various aspects of maintenance organisation, approaches and applied technology. The student has tried to incorporate various maintenance approaches and framework into one. Its scientific value, academic and industrial relevance found to be excellent.

Based on these facts and evaluations of the members of Jury, the MTA committee anonymously took the decision that:

  • The Masters Thesis from Spain by Juan Francisco Gomez Fernandez, is the WINNER.
  • Thesis from The Netherlands : RUNNER-UP
  • Theses from Sweden & Finland: JOINT-THIRD

The WINNER of the MTA, Juan Francisco Gomez Fernandez, was awarded the Certificate by
Hans Klemme-Wolff, Chairman, EFNMS, at the Closing Ceremony of EUROMAINTENANCE 2010 on 14 May,
in presence of Uday Kumar, Chairman of the Award Committee.

There after, Juan gave a presentation of the Award winning thesis to the audience.
