Time Schedule and Procedure

EFNMS and NMSs will advertise the MTA process and time schedule for the knowledge and awareness of students and teachers involved in Masters Thesis in Maintenance engineering and related areas of the European Universities and Institutes.
Professors from National Universities/Institutes send their best Masters thesis of last two years, (like; 2010–2011 for Euro-Maintenance 2012, etc) in English language to the National Coordinator and Member of the Jury of their respective country by 01 December 2011.
The National Coordinator and Member of the Jury of each country will get the received theses evaluated with help of other academic members and sends the best thesis of the country with an evaluation report detailing Scientific Relevance and industrial value, originality and presentation style, etc. (the existing format and criteria used by EFNMS) to the National Maintenance Society of the country, who in turn will send it to the Secretary, MTA, by 31 January 2012.
In case of nomination of the best Master Thesis from NMS in language other than English, a summary of thesis’s scientific value, contribution, originality, methodology and motivation justifying the recommendation of the thesis for award (preferably 3-5 pages) be attached for nominated thesis in English. This practice of accepting non-English thesis with summary in English will be allowed for the EUROMAINTENANCE 2010 and 2012 only.
Secretary, MTA, will get each thesis assessed by three “members of the Jury Panel” as per objective Criteria set by the MTA Committee. No member of the Jury will be given more than two theses to evaluate as only 5-6 weeks time is there for evaluation.
The member of the selected Jury will be from other countries than the country to which the thesis belongs. All the theses will then be ranked based on the average grading points by the secretary, MTA as given by the members of the Jury and the MTA committee will decide the best Masters thesis for award by 31 March 2012.
The decision of the Award committee will be binding and final.
To encourage participation, all the Theses Nominated by NMSs to EFNMS will be issued with a Certificate showing that these were nominated for Award, besides the winner, who will be awarded with the Certificate. Additionally, the best Masters Thesis Awardee will be financially supported by the Salvetti Foundation for traveling and receiving the Award during EUROMAINTENANCE 2012, and subsequent Conferences.
Additionally, the supervisor of the Theses will be recognized by issue of Certificate, to encourage participation from Universities and Institutes. Besides; to provide the necessary motivation and involvement, the quality and design of Certificate will be reexamined and improved to make it attractive. Also, the name of the reviewers and the panel members of jury will be highlighted on web page, and News letter of EFNMS/NMSs.
